Yes I know, it’s Wednesday, not Monday

Yes I know, I’m a slacker, go ahead.  You can say I’m a slacker and have it ring true in many ways.  Let’s start with my weight.  How in the heck I can balloon back up to 220 pounds without having good food to eat is beyond me.

Wait, let me rephrase that, without having good nutritional food to eat.  You see, this not chewing thing has me eating ice cream at an obnoxious rate.  And, returning from a weeklong trip to Disney where pineapple ice cream was just taunting me around every corner would probably be the reason why I have gained all this weight back.

But, indeed, I have some solutions tucked away.  Just before leaving for Disney I received the Wii game from Ubisoft and Jenny McCarthy called Your Shape.  Hopefully once I find my family room floor again (it appears that the dirty laundry from a week of vacationing has exploded there for now), I will get my backside in motion and get some of this weight off.

And, then again…………….argh!

I’ve been thinking

Posted by: jareason  /  Category: my eating habits

This will probably be the shortest post I’ve ever written.  But, as I planning my trip to the oral surgeon next week, I don’t know if I will be given the go ahead to chew or not but if not, it will probably be only 2 more weeks.

And as I watched my favorite reality show, Survivor, I thought about how they had been without real food for 33 days and then they had a reward where they eat way too much.  Many seasons I’ve seen sick survivors.

And my husband was quick to let me know that he was really scared I might go bizerk when it comes time for me to “chew” my food instead of just slurp it.

Who knows….but I’ve got a few things on my mind….

Nacho’s and cheese,

steak

friend pickles and ranch dressing

salad

If it has to be chewed, I’ll probably be on the prowl.

MIA – but some news regardless – Have you tried Genesis Today?

Posted by: jareason  /  Category: my eating habits

I know, I haven’t been as faithful as I had planned to be in writing here.  And, although I still can’t chew, my weight seems to be creeping up not down.  But, that’s what insisting on having a milkshake instead of yogurt will do for you

It’s time to make some conscious decisions that I can live with in the long run.  I am up this morning, it’s almost 5 now but I’ve been up since 3, and as I type this, tears stream down my face from the aching in my jaws.  It’s horrible to think that I quite possibly went through this for no reason.  The oral surgeon was very upfront that if I was gritting and grinding my teeth, the pain was not going to go away.

Let me say this, it is better, it is no where near the level that it was, but it still hurts bad enough that the tears just happen with no thought process involved.  But, again, the time has come to figure out where I’m headed with this.

I want to take a minute to introduce you to a juice supplement known as Genesis Today.  Several people that I know tried Genesis Today and were given the opportunity to meet Dr. Lindsey who is responsible for making this drink one of the world’s leaders in superfoods.  I did not take advantage of the offer the first time and I really don’t know why I didn’t, it just worked out that way.  But, in the months since the others tried it, the conversation has been stoked full of powerful information.

We all know the health benefits of fruits and vegetables but that doesn’t mean we all like the taste of them nor do we always practice what we preach.  So, the time has come to start making some changes.  When I read through the information provided on the site, I could only wonder how I missed such an awesome opportunity the first time around.

The benefits are endless and the Genesis Today site offers so much information that I could never get to it all at once.  So, as I take the challenge (the personal one to make better choices and the one offered up by Genesis Today), I’m going to do my best to help you see the benefits of the juice instead of just giving you my basic opinion.  What you are about to find here on this site, is some down to the basics information to help you take charge of your own health.

As I have mentioned quite often, I have a degree in Physical Education so I have the exercise and nutrition know-how, I’ve just avoided the actual “doing” process.  So, with you in tow, I’m going to take the plunge.  If you want to join me, you can find Genesis Today in the refrigerated section of most grocery stores near the other juices.

I’m anxious to see what you think and what you might can teach me as I take this journey toward better health.

Weekly Update – October 19th!!!

Posted by: jareason  /  Category: my eating habits

Well, I’m no where near ready for photos of me in a swimsuit or anything like that, and to be honest, this week was pretty insignificant since I managed to only hold steady at 209 pounds.  I do think that next week will be my release date for doing more, however, the ortho seems to think that I’ll never get the ankle as strong as I want or expect.

I mean, you know, really, I guess even if it does have a rod, screws and all that, it is probably way stronger than it has been since I was in college and spraining it every few weeks only to go back to the field before it healed properly.  Hey, we might have just figured out why this all happened in the first place, eh?

So, anyway, considering we ate out 3 times last week, holding steady this week is really an accomplishment.  And, well, count that piece of apple pie and you have a recipe for trouble.  So, here we go, a new week ahead and a fridge stocked with ice cold water instead of cans and cans of soda….woot woot!  Go me!

No One Even Noticed

Posted by: jareason  /  Category: I can do this, my eating habits

I’m writing this post a day earlier than normal.  I have a couple of reasons why, one being I am going to be extraordinarily busy tomorrow and I have some awesome news.

I am currently down a total of 16 pounds.  I am still doing static exercises and if you think I’ve lost my mind and that I should just get over it already and do more exercises, you have to know that the bone graft area hasn’t healed an I’ve already fallen once when putting all of my weight on that food while stepping off my porch.  I have to have more strength in the ankle.

The other reason that I’m writing this today…..is…I’m treating myself to a piece of apple pie.  And, when I say a piece, I honestly mean a tiny minute piece.  This little piece of pie is probably nt even 1/4 of the size I would normally eat.  But, I bought it pre-made and I”m assuming that the folks that marketed it had ever intention of me eating only one serving of it.

So, as of October 11, 2009, I am down a rockin’ total of 16 pounds….but next week…..let’s just hope the apple pie doesn’t show up….

And, no one even noticed. Not one person has noticed. I finally asked my husband today and he said that I wear my clothes too baggy for him to notice….whatever!

Working it…

Posted by: jareason  /  Category: my eating habits

I’ve done really well with my food consumption.  And, for some reason, as of late, my favorite midnight snack has been carrots and ranch dressing.  Too bad I can’t get addicted to carrots without the dressing, but at least I’m leaning toward the lowfat and such.

I worked hard on Sunday inside the house realizing late into the evening that I had not eaten all day.  And, as I heated my soup, I searched for the last remaining crackers that I just knew were in my fridge.  And, lo and behold I found carrots.  My eyes widened, I yelled to my husband in reference to where in the world did the carrots come from and why in the world was I not told that we had them.

He had plans.  He was making sushi.  It was pretty apparent, the shrimp, carrots, crabmeat, cucumbers and mayo and yea, rice lots and lots of rice.  We never got the sushi this weekend but those carrots…….they wont’ make til he is in the mood for sushi, I can promise you that.

At least if my exercise plan is slow my eating is better than it’s every been…I mean, carrots?  or ice cream?  And, I chose carrots…no really I did.
