Writing this one first!

Since I am a day late and as always a dollar short, I’m kicking off he blog-writing-fest tonight by telling you a few tidbits of information.  Yes I know, it’s not Monday and I didn’t tell you any more last week then I have prior til now.  OOPS!

Here’s the scoop.  I haven’t gained any weight and I have had a substantial amount of milkshakes.  As it is, I’ve injured my jaw that I had surgery on in November and I can’t eat much of anything.  For the most part, today’s news from the oral surgeon came with “not even noodles” and no “sucking thick shakes through a straw”.  Great, that’s all I’ve done lately.

So, I will just put a pack of spoons in my bag…by Go Gaga Bag by the way, have you all seen it?

gogaga the slide

Because I can and do pack a big punch is this here bag and found myself laughing til I almost peed my pants tonight when my husband declared that a “handbag” is no place for a toothbrush.  Well, who says?

go gaga

I mean, really, it’s not like I had a full toothbrush and toothpaste in there…who needs it when these Wisps are so easy to toss in the bag?

Anyway, that’s no where near where this post was going.  It was going to the mailman.  Yea I know, I’m warped.  Yesterday, the mailman had a package that I had to sign to even receive.  And in that package…..Your Shape by Jenny McCarthy.

yourshape

So, now it is on people.  I have EASports and I have Your Shape.  Once my mouth is better so I”m not suffering daily with a monster headache (hopefully after tomorrow), I will get moving…..get my booty moving you hear me?

Watch out world, your gonna see me working out……*shutters*

Here in lies the problem..

We just came from an impromptu shopping trip….no one actually made an official grocery store trip this past weekend so…..here’s what Wayne retrieved from the dollar store yesterday on the way home from work:

Toilet Paper

Capri Suns

4 – 6 packs of Coca-Cola

Chocolate Covered Peanuts

So, today, we made another short trip to the dollar store, we bought:

2 boxes of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese

2 boxes of Generic Shells and Cheese

1 box of Generic Cheez-its

1 Gallon of milk

1 Box of Apple Jack’s Cold Cereal

1 – 6 pack of Coca-Cola

1 package of Molasses Cookies

1 package of peanut butter cookies

2 bags of chocolate covered donuts

And now you see why it is that weight loss around here is a mute point……….

People who are losing and not starving

Posted by: jareason  /  Category: Featured

The Your Shape game is in the hands of a few people I know and know well.  And one of them is on week 2 and the first week she lost nothing.  She was disappointed and rightfully so.  This week, down eleven pounds…just look, this is freakin’ amazing!

kim

That’s the real deal ya’ll!

Obese woman dies from starvation…just kidding…kind of!

Posted by: jareason  /  Category: I can't do this

I haven’t gained any weight since I checked in with you last Monday.  I haven’t eaten anything to matter either.  On Sunday of last week I had a rather large mushy meal from a Japanese restaurant (I still can’t chew) but since then, I’ve survived on Coca-Cola and 3 or 4 milkshakes.  The idea of foods that I can have, chicken noodle soup, jello, macaroni and cheese, have kind of lost their appeal right now.

So, as I say with pride, I haven’t gained any weight….I tell you that I’m starving the freakin’ frakin’ to death.  I am so not kidding.  I”m hungry…all the time….but nothing seems to be doing the trick.

You are NOT what you eat

Posted by: jareason  /  Category: I can't do this

Let’s just get that out there ok?  You are so not what you eat.  I didn’t even write a post last week because I was so disgusted.  I was at a conference on Monday, Tuesday required me to devote a lot of attention to my kids so by Wednesday I figured there was no reason to write and give you the crappy news.

As you know, I had TMJ surgery on November 12th.  I was on liquids until right before Christmas when I was told that I could add noodles and the like.  Apparently I was a bit anxious to consume some real food because on Christmas Day I tried a small piece of very tender ham.  And I paid for it.  The pain was horrible and of course, the good doc put me back to liquids.

As you may (or may not) remember, when I had the surgery, I weighed in at 208.  And since that time, I’ve had liquids.  Yes, soda’s, but yogurt and fruit, non-fat yogurt at that.  Yes, I’ve had ice cream and milkshakes but people, real food?  I finally ate some rice yesterday but please, this is really getting old.

And the worst yogurt?  My weight is climbing.  Since I had surgery it has steadily started to rise.  I’m back to 216.  That’s a total of 8 pounds gained on liquids.  And, as I said, it hasn’t been all low-fat foods here and I haven’t actually “counted” calories as I am just not really a believer in that as much as I am in changing eating habits.  (I just can’t actually change any eating habits right now other than to continue to consume liquids).

The word diet shouldn’t refer to the process of going without food, it should be about the food you do consume.  Meaning that, as if you didn’t know, your diet is what you eat, not what you do without.

With that, I am on a list to receive Jenny McCarthy’s game for the Wii.  Your Shape is the name of it.  I will be receiving the game from Collective Bias and along with a group of people, we will be offering up our weight loss as a counter or “Up the Ante” with a group of people who are the official weight-loss and Your Shape group for CB.

I will try to post here more often about the game and as always, I’ll continue to use the EASports game too when I can pry the remotes out of my kids hands.  In the meantime…………….just remember……

You

I want to go somewhere and you can help me

Posted by: jareason  /  Category: Featured

I have an opportunity to win a ticket to one of the smaller but more intimate conferences, Blissdom.  All I knew you to do is go to this post, I Found My Reason and leave a quick comment.  The person with the most comments wins.

I don’t ask for help often so if you can spare a minute, by all means, please help a girl out.

I have bad news.

Posted by: jareason  /  Category: I can't do this

I hate to start my posts like that, but the fact is, my weight is on the rise.  I”m not happy about but I hurt my mouth chewing over the holidays and had to go back to mostly liquids.  And, while returning to liquids, my anxiety level rose and my sense of sanity apparently flew right out the window.

Instead of yogurt and fresh fruit?  I’ve chosen pineapple milkshakes or maybe strawberry milkshakes….oh heck, I didn’t have dinner last night and it’s already 2 in the afternoon today…might as well give me a large.

And I do a bit of shopping or someone says those magic words “I am going into town, do you want something?”…..and bam, next thing you know I have another one of those great big shakes in my hands.

Something has to give….and I’m serious.

Preparing to make changes, even in our shopping habits

Posted by: jareason  /  Category: Miscellaneous

Just as the post-holiday dust settles, my husband and I start to try to figure out what we are going to use our money for that our parents sent plus what we chose to save in lieu of gifts under the tree.  We have never been really good at restraint when it comes to money but this year, we actually did a fairly decent job.

So now, it’s time to break out the shopping deals.  We are definitely on the hunt for a dishwasher.  And since we’ve never been good with money (like I said above), we need to do our best compare shopping prices on the items we need.

I put my husband on the prowl for the perfect solution for us.  We removed our cabinets under the sink about a year ago because we had a really bad leak.  And, shortly after that was when the dishwasher went south.  That leaves us free to buy the biggest dishwasher we can find because trust me, we hate to wash dishes in this house and apparently we aren’t too fond of loading and unloading dishwashers either.

Lo and behold, I sat and listened as my husband look at one appliance and then another.  Before he was finished, he was looking at freezers and trying to talk to me about what a great asset a freezer would be.  And, the man is a genius, he is right, we could use one…that’s exactly why we already have one.  That man *shakes head*!

I’ve been bad, TMJ surgery or not, I can gain weight not lose it

Posted by: jareason  /  Category: I can do this

Remember about 8 weeks ago when I lost 15 pounds?  Well, apparently it was a fluke or a really bad stomach bug one.  I say that because after having TMJ surgery, I’ve slowly started to gain it back.  I haven’t had anything much to eat up until last week.  I was on a mandatory “no chew” diet.

It was amazing the things I had managed to eat with actually chewing.  If you soak a taco salad long enough, and you take out things like big tomatoes, and the lettuce is shreaded enough, you can actual eat that.  I don’t recommend diving right in though when you’ve been eating yogurt and eggs mostly.

And then I discovered that even though it was freezing cold outside, milkshakes were a lot better than yogurt and pureed fruit.  And so when I climbed on those scales this week, I was up to 210 again.  And, not only that, I ate some ham last week after the doctor told me I could start with some pasta and other soft foods.  That hurt my mouth really bad and I’m back to liquids.

So, with that, I figure if I am in a situation with just liquids away, right here at New Year Resolution time, I might try a cleansing.  And, since I have already been involved with Genesis Today, I decided that their New Year’s Cleanse.  I’ve been drinking their juices and they have a program for cleansing that you can find on the New Year’s Cleanse.

That article will tell you why you cleanse, what the purpose of the cleanse is, who should take part in a cleanse and then it gives you the directions for proceeding with the cleanse.  As always if you have serious health problems you should consult your physician.

I’m going to start on Monday since we haven’t actually celebrated Christmas with my mom yet.  We will do that tomorrow and then Saturday and Sunday will be a time to get the house back in order.  I will keep you updated.
